This page has been created to keep the members and friends of Dade City Christian Church updated on our Playground Project. Take a look at our plans, the amount of money we have raised, and building progress for this new church resource for kids. Our Plans

      The following is a brief overview of what we are setting out to accomplish with this project. For more details contact the church office.

• 60' x 40' fenced in play area
• 1 large play set for kids ages 5-12
• 1 small play set for kids ages 5 and under
• Engineered Wood Fiber surfacing
• Exterior lighting
• 8' Picnic Table

Playground Construction

June 12th-14th, 2008

      A significant amount of work was accomplished by several different people this week, and some of the church kids were finally able to start doing some playing on Sunday 6/15. The delivery and spreading of 23 cubic yards of mulch was a big job, but a key to making the playground safe enough to use. There are still some finishing touches to come, but the bulk of our project is completed. Some of our youth group guys worked especially hard to help us get things done (and also found some time for fun). Here is some of what was done:

   
           

June 9th-10th, 2008

      Some additional work was done spreading the dirt from the hole around the play area and clearing off roots and branches. The exterior lighting project is almost completed, which required digging a trench to bury conduit and wire. With the help of some of the youth group the light was mounted to a pole and raised up. All that remains to do is some of the final wiring.

      The main playset was delivered and installed today! A couple guys from Lowe's came by in put the playset together on site in about 2 hours. Here's what the area looks like now

      The fence is up! A group of 5 was out at the church this weekend digging, setting posts, and putting up the chain link fence. Here's a look at what they got done.

      Here is a preliminary look at the area of our property where the playground will go. You can get an idea of how large it will be and the amount of shade we will have.
